One of only two five-star establishments in Chicago, Charlie Trotter’s Restaurant is not only the best restaurant in Chicago, but is regarded as one of the finest restaurants in the world.  Receiving numerous awards (Outstanding Chef in 1999 from the James Beard Foundation, for example), this restaurant is sure to be impressive.  Chef Trotter has even opened a Trotters to Go take-out retail shop in Lincoln Park and produced a line of gourmet products under his name.

Charlie Trotter's Restaurant is our pick as the best restaurant in Chicago in part because it offers a private dining salon and private room for special dinners (with a maximum of 34).  The Studio Kitchen, which is attached, is a dining room with its own private show kitchen.  Here, parties of eight to twenty guests can be served.  The kitchen table seats four to six, but it is typically booked months in advance, so plan ahead.  On Sunday and Monday, the restaurant is available for large parties at the best restaurant in Chicago..
